💃🏼How to hit your epic protein target easily (without a ton of meat)! ✨

As we careen around the bend into 2025 (whaaa?!?), many of us (myself included) are thinking about the fastest, easiest ways to reset, reduce bloating and inflammation, and get back on the health train…

And ya, maybe reduce the bit of “extra” that the Christmas holly bobs deposited on our waistlines.

So today I want to offer a super easy, affordable, longevity-promoting hack that helps with all of it: whey protein isolate. Hear me out…

No doubt you’ve heard every health expert, influencer and all of their dogs shouting from the rooftops:

📣 “EAT MORE PROTEIN!” 📣


Actually, it’s more like:

📣 “EAT AN OBSCENE AMOUNT OF PROTEIN!” 📣

The science shows that simply increasing your protein intake (A LOT) promotes effortless fat loss - including for perimenopausal and menopausal women - among other benefits, like improving muscle tone, cognition, improved moods, energy, etc.

So HOW MUCH protein to eat?

Well, the recommendation (for both weight loss and longevity) is to consume your ideal body weight equivalent in grams of protein.  

Every. Single. Day.

Daaaaamn. Absurd, right? 

Most women (and men) I talk to are repulsed by the idea of trying to do this by eating a metric crap ton of meat. 🥩

(Personally, that is a no-go for these bowels. 😬)

But here’s the cool thing:

It’s actually quite easy IF you use this handy little trick -

Make friends with whey protein isolate

Now, before you think, “well poop, I can’t do dairy” and click away, hear me out: 

They “isolate” in whey protein isolate means that the protein part of the whey is isolated from almost all of the carbs and fat…so it's almost entirely protein. 

This means that even those who don’t tolerate dairy well do well with it because it doesn't contain the allergens, like lactose and casein…

In fact, I’ve had plenty of very dubious lactose intolerant clients over the years find themselves OVER the moon over this stuff!


Anyway, whey isolate is relatively cheap - WAY cheaper than the equivalent animal protein - and SO easy.

A single scoop is almost 30 grams of healthy bioavailable protein your body can actually use that doesn’t cause low level inflammation!! (Unlike the vegan stuff…more on that coming another time.)

And it tastes soooo good!

Great for the kiddos too. Even my fussy-as-all-heck-white-bread-red-meat old Dad likes it! 

How to use whey isolate? 

This is how I do it:

  1. For a frothy, healthy treat, make a simple smoothie: blend a scoop of chocolate or vanilla whey isolate + a scoop of creatine + ½ cup frozen organic blueberries. I have this as my longevity-promoting, fat-busting first food of the day, topped with a sprinkle of crunchy toasted pumpkin seeds, coconut flakes + cacao nibs.


  2. Mix a scoop into full fat Greek yogurt and top with a few seeds, nuts, coconut flakes and dried berries for satisfying crunch and chew. YUM! A fast, protein-rich breakfast you can make the night before.


  3. Hide a powerful protein boost in any dish by mixing unflavoured whey isolate into any hot food! It dissolves instantly and has no real flavour, asides some sort of vaguely satisfying je-ne-sais-quoi. I add the plain kind to sauces, soups and stews as a healthy thickening agent too. No one is the wiser. Bye bye, empty-calorie-carby flour town. 👋 (Great trick for the kiddos, who really need that protein!)


BAM! Deeeelicious.

What kind to get?

Get a clean whey protein isolate without any nasty artificial sweeteners or sugar alcohols (like erythritol, maliltol, sorbitol, etc - watch out for anything ending in “-ol”).
